Why Start a Travel Blog Now?

Seems a bit funny, doesn’t it?

Starting a blog dedicated to travel and seeing the world, almost three months into lockdown in the middle of a global pandemic, with no end in sight, could be construed as an unusual choice. We asked ourselves was now a good time to start this new journey. And then we thought to ourselves, if not now – then when? It’s not like we’ve anywhere to go.

Leaving Dublin

We’ve always loved travelling. Whether it’s an hour drive from where we live, a short city break, or a luxury cruise with multiple stops, we just love getting out and seeing the world. But another thing we love is finding out about other peoples’ travel experiences. It’s so cool to see the places other people have been, and to read about them. And we’ve always thought it was something we could do as well.

Road Trip to Browns Bay

So, we decided to start Ireland & Elsewhere, our own little corner of social media. It’s somewhere for us to share the places we’ve been, and the places we’d love to go to. Hopefully when this is all over, we’ll get to see them someday. Until then, stay safe and keep planning the next trip away!

Ireland & Elsewhere: A Beginning

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Ireland & Elsewhere.

We’re Iain & Brianna, a husband and wife duo from Ireland. We both love travelling, and exploring places both close to home and further afield. We love taking photos of our trips, and over the years, we have talked about making a blog of our adventures to document the places we have been to together, and share our experiences with other like-minded people.

We love to post photos of our experiences and connect with people on Instagram, however we felt that a blog would allow us explore topics further. We hope to do a range of blog posts on topics such as our top five places to visit in Ireland, our top destinations and dream vacations among other things.

We hope you will join us on our adventures, and make sure to check us out on Instagram @irelandandelsewhere
